MicroSaaS development: a small paid web product built, launched and owned by you

ODEL builds MicroSaaS products: small paid web tools that solve one problem for one kind of customer, with sign-up, Stripe plans, a focused dashboard and low hosting costs. It fits indie founders and domain experts who know a niche and want a version they can sell, without a team. The developer who builds it is the person you talk to. A project starts with a discovery call and a written scope that cuts the product to the one job customers will pay for, then screens, a staging site you can use, and launch on hosting and a Stripe account in your name. You own the code and every account. ODEL runs its own: Appalize, an ASO platform with a free plan and paid tiers from 9.99 USD a month, runs on Node.js, PostgreSQL and Stripe, and Appalize Shots is a single-purpose screenshot app with a Pro upgrade.

Who it is for

  • Indie founders with a niche they know and a few people ready to pay
  • Domain experts (agencies, consultants, operators) turning an internal tool into a product
  • Mobile app developers who need a web companion or API for their app
  • Founders who want a small product they can run alone after launch

When we are not the right fit

  • Ideas with no evidence anyone will pay: talk to customers or sell a manual version first
  • Products that are mostly content or a directory: a no-code tool such as Webflow or Bubble may be enough
  • Founders who want a technical co-founder with equity rather than a hired studio

What you get

How the project runs

  1. 01

    Scope to one job

On the discovery call we cut the idea to what a customer will pay for in month one. You get a fixed quote or a phased plan.

  2. 02

    Screens and pricing

Clickable screens, plan limits and the pricing page are agreed before code.

  3. 03

    Build and staging

Milestones land on a staging site you can use and show to early customers.

  4. 04

    Launch in your accounts

Domain, hosting, Stripe and email providers in your name; ODEL configures them as a team member.

  5. 05

    Run it

You receive a runbook. Optional monthly support for features and fixes.

Questions about working with us

How much does a MicroSaaS cost to build?

It depends on the core workflow, integrations, billing rules and design. ODEL quotes after a discovery call. No independent survey of MicroSaaS build cost exists; the closest 2026 figures are vendor estimates: a SaaS MVP at about 8,000 to 25,000 USD offshore and a simple SaaS at 5,000 to 25,000 USD and up (Prioxis, a vendor blog).

What does a MicroSaaS cost to run each month?

For a small product, the main running costs are hosting, a database, email sending, a domain and Stripe fees on each payment. Small products often run on a low monthly hosting bill, but it rises with usage, file storage and any AI model calls. ODEL estimates running costs in the written scope so there are no surprises.

How many features should the first version have?

As few as it takes to solve one problem well enough that someone pays. Founders often plan 15 or more features; most of them can wait until real customers ask for them. The scope ODEL writes lists what is in, what is out and why.

How long does it take?

It depends on scope. Vendor estimates in 2026 put a thin-slice SaaS MVP with one workflow, basic auth and Stripe checkout at about 8 to 10 weeks (Teamseven); the same source warns that anything quoted under 6 weeks is likely a template.

Who owns the app, the source code and the developer accounts?

You do. The app is published under your own Apple and Google developer accounts, the repository is yours, and the written agreement assigns the code and design to you; under US law, for example, a contractor owns the code by default unless there is a written assignment, so ask for that clause from anyone you hire. ODEL is added to your accounts as a team member and can be removed at any time.
